The Cornation Clay Story
Cornation Clay began in 1965 in Ollur — a small factory with one kiln, a handful of workers, and a single product: the DG roof tile. Kerala's monsoon is unforgiving. The tiles needed to hold.
They held. Word spread through Thrissur, then to Ernakulam, then across the state. Builders who specified Cornation Clay tiles in 1970 are still using the same tiles today — no replacements needed.
Over sixty years, we expanded the range — ceiling tiles, jali screens, flooring tiles, face bricks. But the core never changed: natural clay, kiln-fired at high temperature, no shortcuts.
Today, the third generation leads the company. New tools, new reach, new designs — but the same clay formula our grandfather mixed in 1965.

What We Stand For
Natural Clay Only
We use natural alluvial clay from Kerala and Tamil Nadu — no polymer additives, no artificial pigments. The terracotta colour goes all the way through.
Kiln-Fired Quality
Every tile is fired at 900–1000°C for 24–48 hours. No shortcuts. The same temperature and duration as 1965.
Consistent Dimensions
Each batch is dimension-checked before despatch. Variation within ±3mm — standard for handcrafted clay.
Sustainable by Nature
Clay is natural, abundant, and fully biodegradable. No steel, no PVC, no synthetic coatings. The most sustainable roofing material available.
